TheFAM: Foster & Adoption
Our Purpose
Scripture is clear that God’s family has the responsibility of caring for those who are most vulnerable. Our God describes himself as a Father to the fatherless (Psalm 68:5). Because of this, Lake Church supports those walking through the highs and lows of fostering and adoption, and champions orphan care (local+global). Whether you are looking to serve in the area of prevention, intervention, or restoration we can assist your efforts to fulfill the gospel in serving vulnerable children.

Day One Team
Volunteers who generously respond to the immediate + spontaneous needs of a child and foster family on Day One of placement.
Dinner, clothing, and hygiene products are a few basics provided.
Having Day One needs covered by the church allows foster parents the opportunity to focus on their new arrival.

Babysitters
Registered babysitting is an invaluable service to foster families and children.
Approval for babysitting is based upon
1) the age of the babysitter and children
2) the needs of the children
3) the length of the care provided
If you are 16 and older this can be a great way to serve.

Respite Providers | Extended Babysitting
Your service allows foster and adoptive families opportunities for extended respite.
Providing Respite care is a crucial ministry that allows foster parents a time of rest & renewal.
Individuals at least 18 years of age may care for children overnight, from 3 to 14 days at a time.

Foster | Adoptive Families
Adding a child to your home is one of the most rewarding experiences you can ever have.
Whether you are considering fostering, fostering to adopt, domestic adoption, or international adoption we would like to walk alongside you through this journey.
